Marlene Rose's is presenting for the first time some new and exciting pieces...so new that they're still in the works and will only be unveiled at the Gallery! Marlene will be there and hopes you will be able to join her at the opening, if you're in the Atlanta area. For more information on Marlene Rose, click here:

Edward Mapplethorpe assisted his older brother Robert (1946-1989) in his studio throughout the 1980s. In 1983, Mapplethorpe launched his solo career establishing a distinct personal style. His luminous nudes, portraits, still lives, and abstract works have been exhibited and collected throughout the United States and in major cities around the world. For the full bio, click here.
The Best is Yet to Come! Combine these two bits of counsel “Never retire. Your brain needs exercise or it will atrophy” and “When you’re through changing, you’re through.” Now you know my longevity strategy. With exercise I extend the life of my body which gains meaning only when I preserve the life of my mind. Fresh stimulation is what all of us should require in ‘the last stage of life for which the first was made’.
Hans Hoffman’s most vibrant and passionate works were when he was 85. Warren Buffet said “Create a life you never have to retire from". In 2005, John Weiland sent me an article, “Never Retire”.
I would rather be a gallerist than anything else in the world. I enjoy being free to love life loving what I do, it doesn’t get any better than that. If I am not seeing or talking about Art, it is a wasted day. Why would I retire from the career that is central to my life and my perception of myself?
At age 86 on April 2nd, I will be the Director of my own gallery once more. The opening exhibitions are “Early Works 1983-1990” photographs by Edward Mapplethorpe and “Cultural Tensions” glass sculptures by Marlene Rose. I reject stultifying retirement and seize the opportunity for an exhilarating second wind.
Medical and genetic science will increase our life spans. When you are through learning, changing and staying involved, then you are through, it’s never too late!
- Fay Gold
Fay Gold Gallery is an authentic art secondary market resale where you can buy and sell pre-owned art by prominent contemporary artists in all mediums at a discount. Buyers can have as much as 50% off the retail price, and sellers earn up to 70% of the sale price. We offer clients a chance to resell art they no longer want to display or own and give them a generous cut of the sale price. The Fay Gold Gallery consigns pre-owned art via its website and gallery in Atlanta. Fay Gold studied art history and owned the most important contemporary art gallery in the South for 29 years before recently launching this new art resale concept. “It is the life cycle of fine art. You buy well, and you resell.” People now see art as an investment, not just a decorative purchase. We research the current fair market value of the artwork and give our collectors an opportunity to own something they’ve always wanted.
Selling on Fay Gold Gallery is Effortless
We consult with consignors in their homes to see items they wish to sell or sellers may choose to email photographs and information of the artwork. The following details must be included: your name, email address, phone number, artist, title, year, size, medium edition and provenance.
